This was great! I was able to get insight, as a campus pro who has never worked in a house corp. setting, to begin to get a better understanding of how I can be a liaison and partner to our house directors. Also, HDs benefit a lot from learning about the topics addressed! More HDs should be coming to this. I will have informed mine about this in the future!
As a sitting house corporation board member for my own sorority and an acting house director and live-in advisor for a fraternity, this conference hit the mark. Ideal for members of a housing team (HD, board member) to attend together to share thoughts and discuss how the content directly applies to their organization. HDs, by the nature of their role, are engaged in facility maintenance, remodels, etc. They work with volunteers, students, third-party vendors, etc. I highly recommend this conference and wish it has an additional day for more content.
As an independent housing corp., the connections made during the GHC were invaluable. We simply don't have the resources to access most professionals on a paid level, so this was fantastic. And, unlike our university community, every professional there was willing to share information and collaborate.
The Greek Housing Conference is a unique opportunity to connect with fellow housing volunteers, fraternal housing professionals, and vendors that support the work of the fraternal housing community. The educational sessions are relevant and facilitated by exceptional knowledge leaders, and the schedule of the conference means it easily fits into a busy summer schedule.
It was great learning about the challenges sorority and fraternity housing are experiencing today. We came away from the conference with areas to improve upon and ideas on how to utilize different communication strategies to reach alumnae. I feel more volunteers should be encouraged to attend and to learn new ideas that can be implemented in their housing unit.
Fantastic networking and benchmarking style event. Best practices and interactive audience environment. Refreshing mix of volunteers, university staff, housing professionals, vendors, and board members. Very friendly exchange of ideas and appreciation of the shared braintrust.
When you work in a market niche like fraternity housing, the value of coming together and collaborating with peers is amplified, because resources and best practices are often hard to come by. The Greek Housing Conference offers a great platform for sharing what we know and what we do. It's a lot more than vendors pitching their products and services; it's actually helping everyone get better at what we do by sharing experiences.
The fraternal housing audience and the value that fraternal facilities provide is often one that is overlooked by universities, and even national organizations. It is great to attend a conference that keeps the momentum around housing going and provides a space for volunteers and international organizations to collaborate.
It was a great conference, and I learned a lot about what programs are working at other Greek organizations. I was able to network with professionals who specialize in solving the kinds of challenges we face daily. This is a must-attend experience for any alumni leaders responsible for solving Greek housing challenges for our undergraduate brothers.
